Key experiences

Visitors to the OPEN MIND stand at EMO Hannover this year were able to watch the company's hyperMILL solution milling a component in the form of a car key to symbolize its "“Key to success" trade show slogan. In addition, however, this component demonstrated the use of innovative hyperMILL technologies on a KERN Micro Vario - from high-precision milling and hyperMILL MAXX Machining performance strategies to hyperMILL CONNECTED Machining automation solutions. While each newly milled key with a name engraved on it was handed out to visitors at the end of the demonstration, numerous other exhibits highlighted hyperMILL solutions for the aerospace industry, die and mold engineering, and prototype manufacturing.

"The show was a complete success and we're already looking forward to the next EMO in two years' time. It's always the perfect platform to showcase our innovations. Our automation solutions and the new hyperMILL ADDITIVE Manufacturing module proved extremely popular," says Volker Nesenhöner, CEO of OPEN MIND Technologies AG, who is full of praise for this year's trade show presentation in Hannover. The new strategies from the hyperMILL MAXX Machining High-Performance Package also generated a great deal of interest. One example was Perfect Pocketing technology, which is designed to improve the efficiency of pocket machining with high-feed milling cutters. An intelligent algorithm fits the largest possible pocket into the area to undergo roughing and automatically generates linear toolpaths for high-feed milling.
